I went to the local HyVee grocery store recently to grab something for supper and when looking in the meat section I saw cubed lamb which immediately made me think of my favorite food when I was growing up. It is called Chislic and is basically just cubed lamb on skewers that you deep fat fry for 2 - 3 minutes and then sprinkle with garlic salt. It is absolutely amazing.
Very few people I have talked to about this food over the years have any idea what I am talking about. I guess it is pretty localized to South Dakota. My grandma lived there when I was younger and that is how I knew about it.
